Three years ago, long time Eurekan, Ranaga Farbiarz, seeded the first art car event in Eureka Springs. On a cold & rainy day in May, the art cars rolled through Eureka as participants in the ARTrageous Parade on May 6th, 2006. They did it again in 2007 and are returning in 2008. In Eureka Springs, the month of May is dedicated to art. The first weekend of May kicks off with the ARTrageous Parade, which is open to all. The last weekend, Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, will close our ARTrageous month. This is the art car weekend where "Extreme Art Meets Extreme Sport". Another parade will ensue and will be open to all. Eureka does not discriminate, especially when it comes to parades. With the help and support of the Eureka Springs festival office, the CAPC and the creative spirit that flows freely through the hearts of Eurekans, the art cars will be rolling into Eureka to close the ARTrageous month of May with a parade on Saturday, May 24th, 2008.
